 Buyeroad, A Market for Anything

In September 1995, something happened that would forever change online commerce.

A seller named Pierre Omidyar listed a broken laser pointer for $1 on eBay. Laser didn’t work, it wasn’t new and the auction reached $14.83!

It proved that there is a market for anything!

There is no limit what people want to buy or sell.

Today, it would be almost impossible to sell a broken laser pointer!! Today, millions never make it past the starting line. Blocked accounts, failed verifications, rejected listings—billions of dollars in potential trade are locked out of the market.

But that's not the end of the story.

In 1995, there were very few Internet users worldwide compared to today.

When Pierre Omidyar sold that famous broken laser pointer, the online world was incredibly small:

  • Amazon had just been founded.

  • Google did not exist yet

  • There were only about 23,500 websites in the entire world!

This makes the sale even more remarkable.

In 1995, only 16 million people were online!!

Today, 6 billion people use the Internet!!!

Imagine how many broken lasers, unusual items, and unexpected products can now be bought and sold

New Marketplace in Europe

Mostly people think is easy selling online today in Europe. While the truth the actual numbers are still low. When people talk about online shopping, they immediately think of Amazon. However, the reality is very different. Amazon represents only a small fraction of the total online commerce market

The Past & The Future

In Italy, in France, in Germany and in Europe there was a time when you could turn on your computer and sell almost anything you wanted online. Today, that’s no longer possible. A single individual or a small business venture trying to start on the internet is often blocked, restricted, or buried.

The Answer? Buyeroad

This platform gives individuals and businesses residents in Europe the opportunity to freely sell new and used products and reach customers across Europe without interference from external markets (example China). This is the innovation that can finally create a stronger, more independent, and more powerful European marketplace.

Why we start with Europe?

Consumers in Europe are among the most active online shoppers on the planet. The United Kingdom is often ranked among the leaders, with the average online shopper spending about €400 monthly, Germany, France, Spain and Italy follows closely.

Asia leads the world in total e-commerce sales because of its massive population but in many Asian countries, the average remains significantly lower. For example, in Indonesia, average online spending is estimated at around $20 per month

.Buyeroad's ambition is to become a truly global marketplace, expanding across Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, China, Japan, and beyond.

Safety First

On Buyeroad, the item received must match the description and condition presented in the listing. All shipments are fully trackable, and the seller receives payment only after the buyer has received the item. All payments are processed through a secure system, PayPal, ensuring protected and fully traceable transactions. The entire process is managed and monitored by Buyeroad to provide maximum security for both buyers and sellers.

Grow Your Vision

Despite widespread internet access, only about 20–30% of individuals and 20–30% of businesses actually sell online. In other words, roughly 70–80% of both individuals and businesses do not participate in online selling.

Grow Your Vision

"Across Europe, tens of billions of euros in potential online commerce remain untapped because the majority of individuals and businesses still do not sell online. The addressable market for new and used goods could easily exceed €40–60 billion if barriers to entry were significantly reduced."
